Psych somebody/yourself up 마음의 준비를 하다.

You get mentally prepared before doing something so that you feel confident.

I'd got myself all psyched up for the interview and then it was called off at the last minute.

Life is full of situations that can make you feel nervous or unsure. And any event that‘s big enough to get you worked up probably involves you trying to impress others, so overcoming your uneasy feelings is a must.

As such, you must employ whatever means available to make it out on top. Job interviews, public presentations or meeting the parents can all be stressful and trying situations, but with a little advance planning, you can overcome it without too much stress. It’s important to get yourself as mentally prepared as possible for such situations (=to psych yourself up) so that you’ll perform your best, rather than just scrape by.
